Why I Chose To Have A Reform Wedding In Israel"

Friday, January 19, 2018, 5:30pm - Gili Hershkovitz Peled, a shlicha in Ohio, and a colleague of Karin Wasserman, our Federation shlicha, will be speaking.

Gili and her husband Uri got married in a Reform wedding ceremony, which currently isn’t officially recognized by the state of Israel. Gili will talk about the decision process that brought them to choose this path, the difference between recognized and unrecognized marriage also known as “civil marriage” in Israel, and the process that Israel is going through in this field.
